Pushing peeps along

Quick one: I had been meaning to check on Mystie’s blog for a while, and hadn’t until now. Great to see that he wrote up some more of his experiences at the MiniCon:
I don’t do breakfast, but I hear my girlfriend’s voice saying “Make sure you eat properly. I know what you’re like when you get on the computer.” going round my head. I’ve never been this organised in my life.
… but since then, nada. C’mon man! We want to hear all about what else you got up to! Perhaps this will encourage you to finish, eh? (Trust me; I know what it’s like trying to recount that monster….)
While I’ve got you in a reading mood I also wandered over to see if Hazel – one of our trusty Sidekicks – had updated her blog with more of her experiences from the weekend. And lo! She has!
I got to spend all day with Miss Liberty and Ghost widow. How lucky am I?
Answer: very. Go read more.
By the way, according to Haze, I apparently drunk some ‘beer’ over the weekend, possibly in Omega Sektor’s bar. I’d just like to say for the record that this is nothing but a scandalous rumour and probably never happened.
Right then, Friday is it?

As I mentioned yesterday, starting my week on a Thursday after a West Coast US-South Coast UK transition threw me for a bit of a loop, so much so that I was convinced it was Monday for a while. Today I didn’t think it was Tuesday, but naturally it didn’t feel much like a Friday either.
Again, slowly getting back up to speed today. One thing that’s been making that whole process feel a bit ‘different’ is this:

Yes, it’s an iMac, which I am now (as of yesterday) using completely as my primary work machine, as opposed to the screen I turned to when I needed to do a nice presentation, or perhaps check my receding hairline (it’s very shiny, you see, like a mirror). This has meant that I’ve had to re-learn how to do my email (I’m using the built-in Mail app, not Outlook) and even how to use Word .docs too. So that’s been a bit slow. Thank God the web works the same, wherever.
What did I get up to today, though? Mostly email catch-up, and I also spent quite a bit of time writing this and this.
Yes, we’ve finally announced what we’re doing at the Comic Expo in Bristol this year, and it’s quite exciting. First of all, I officially announced the first ever Draw the World Together Sketchbook. It’s 32 pages with a colour cover (black and white interiors), and I saw the final proof today. This thing is rockin’. We are so happy with how it turned out, and at a measly £5 (all going to charity) I seriously think it’s going to be the steal of the show.
The second thing I announced, which was really the big surprise, is that we’re going to colour sketches – both new and existing ones. No, not with crayons… digitally, by professionals. It’s a pretty cool development and I really hope people like yourself are going to love the results. Heck, I hope I love the results – you don’t think I’m going to miss out on an offer like that, do you? In case you missed it, here’s an example of what a sketch might look like coloured, courtesy of Jason Cardy:

Pretty damn nice, I say. And that all happens in… eep… two weekends. Before then though, lots of stuff. So I better go and get to doing it!
Talk to me people! I crave comments!
Good afternoon, good evening and goodnight

As you can tell, the jetlag might still be affecting me somewhat. Up until about 12:30pm yesterday I earnestly believed it was Monday. No really. Just ask my co-workers.
So, back from hols as of Wednesday; elongated, crazy time-stretched return of course, not helped by my passing out at 9:30pm on Wednesday night (“I’m just going to nap for 15 minutesssszzzzzzzz….”) and waking up at 3am ready to go put in a full day’s toil. Yesterday was mostly filled with me staring at a screen, blinking, and stabbing cautiously at the Delete key as I got through the email backlog.
Today, hopefully, we start to get back to normal.
Lots coming up as I put the pedal back down to the metal, with the first up being, probably, Bristol Comic Expo and then Podcast 2.5. Some cool stuff being announced about Bristol today, too – keep an eye out.

Hey, as I said I’d mention it – you can now subscribe to (deep breath) The Official NCsoft Europe Podcast. Just click here and Feedburner will do the rest.
Even if you’ve already listened to the first two episodes do me a favour and subscribe anyway – we can keep track of subscriber numbers that way. And of course you get the latest episodes conveniently delivered to you, in digital format, like a special delivery by a postman of the future.
Also, while I have you here: how cool was this? (No, I don’t do birthday parties. Except in person. And then I dress like a clown. And charge by the second.)
Podcast Episode 2 – Attack of the Podcast

I’m not here! I’m in a lovely hotel in Portland, Oregon, with free wifi. (Hotels of the World: wifi should always be free. It’s like hot and cold water now, people.)
But, if I was here, I’d want you to know that the second official podcast wot I did (with help, of course, from my guest Melissa ‘War Witch’ Bianco and the indispensable editing of Chris ‘Aero’ Siddall) is now available to listen to online, download, or even read. Whatever you like.
Also: it’ll be on iTunes soon. I promise.
By the way – here’s a little secret. We had so much material for Episode 2 that we’re jamming it into (effectively) an Episode 2.5, which will be out Soon. TM. I’ll let you know when.
Comments welcome as always!

You said what?
