You got an interview and this is how you tell me? For shame.

Bruce indeed had to go. We just had no need for Australian GPS tracking anymore.

Sounds like you had fun. Pretty gutted that I couldn't make it this year due to work. Never mind, there's a glimmer of hope that I may escape the Shell-hole, since I got an interview for Guitar Hero today!! ^^

Aaaanyway, not getting my hopes up too high just yet over that.

I did spot one thing in your commentary that made me a little sad - you ditched Bruce for Jane! Poor Bruce, was he another casualty of the NCaxe?

We did miss him, but yeah, planning to track him down at Dave's, I think.

Mike's the nicest bloke you could ever meet, really. As are many artists we've worked with. Except for the ones that weren't. But thankfully, there ain't many of those. :)

I can't tell from your post if you missed the Kevin O'Neill signing or not. It looks like you did? Anyway, he's at Dave's Comics this Sunday at 1pm.

Mike Collins is lovely. I've not met him in person, but we used to frequent the old Comics International message board back in the day, and a few years a go when they put out the charity deck of playing cards at Bristol, he signed his Transformers card for me, for no reason at all! Top bloke.

Yus, we got the Manticore A3-sized piccy - and it's WAY too big for our scanner, so no chance of seeing it online any time soon. For anyone desperate to see what it looks like, though, they could get one of the DtWT sketchbooks (I know they're going to be available on ebay)... [/shamelessplug]

Ex Machina is very good indeed. I'm looking forward to seeing that in collected form. Which reminds me, I need to pick up Y: The Last Man in some sort of uber-collection. (Same writer. Try it.)

Oh wow, I forgot you got the Sister Psyche and the Manticore, right? Nice.

Yeah, print doesn't always do justice to pencils - just as in this case (it's a Phil Winslade sketch).

Like the other sketches too. Jason should draw more often!

Was an awesome time on Saturday, and I know that Pixie and I (that's "Rebecca and Ben" to anyone who paid attention) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, even up to and including the naan bread mix-up at the Indian restaurant.

I'm frantically trying to remember the URLs for the scans we did of our pictures, but here's a few that I know for sure:

http://www.chemlak.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Shadowe_Wildman.JPG
http://www.chemlak.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Pyx_JasonC.JPG
http://www.chemlak.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Pyx_NE.JPG
http://www.chemlak.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/SisterP_PhilW.JPG

That last one is the original sketch that appeared in the NCSoft DtWT Sketchbook on page 18... and is MUCH BETTER than the one in the book.

What's a con without you and the others though? :(

Seriously, every single con I've been to, you guys have been there. Brighton 05, Bristol 06, Memorabilia 06, Memorabilia 07, Brighton 08. I came for the people, and occasionally picked up a comic or manga or something.

Probably because it's a money thing I guess. Spending money to get to con, means less money to spend at con. Plus I developed a slight hatred for some con purchases after I discovered that the 'Complete Age of Apocalypse' I picked up was part 2 of 3.

Oh, to plug a comic I'm reading and enjoying, check out Ex Machina. It's a bit more political than most comics, it concerns someone who talks to machines and becomes a hero giving it up to run for New York Mayor to make a real difference.

I believe the Commonwealth Hall was having repairs done, so it was out as a venue.

I was under the impression that meant the Expo would move back there next year - but from what I heard over the weekend, that might not be the case. The Hall itself is very expensive to hire, apparently.

To be honest having a small, but guest-packed Expo could still be good - as long as plenty of people turn up (which didn't seem to be a problem this year) and of course, spend money.
